SKETCHBOOKING 8-13 yrs old

Using the elements of art such as line, shape, and perspective in the portable medium of sketchbooks, students will explore multiple media with the intent of developing the student’s own stories. This class will study master artists Dave McKean, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Lane Smith.

ORIENTAL BRUSHWORK: ANIMALS 8-13 yrs old
Thursdays, Sept. 17 - Nov. 5 4:00-5:15 PM
From real life pandas and tigers to the mythical Chinese dragon, this class will concentrate on painting animals using ink and watercolor on rice paper. We will study the styles of master painters Liv K’vei-ling, LI Yu-Shan, and Ning Yeh.

CREATING WITH CLAY 8-13 yrs old
Fridays, September 18 - November 6 4:00-5:15 PM
Students will be introduced to the different methods of handbuilding and encouraged to find creative ways to make sculptural pieces. This class will visit the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art to look at works by Menashe Kadishman and John Massee, as well as Jonasie Faber’s Blanket Toss to show how to create movement through clay.
