MIDSUMMER NIGHTS FAIR 2008

Lions Park will be transformed into a town square for The Firehouse Art Center’s 31st annual Midsummer Nights’ Fair, with 40 – 50 unique artist booths of fine art. Admission is free.

The Midsummer Nights’ Fair is a place for the community to gather and visit with local and regional artists to celebrate the visual arts. Artists will be displaying paintings, drawings, pottery, jewelry, glass works, woodworking, stained glass, and many other venues of art for viewing and sale.

A central 50’ x 30’ white tent with an inspiring display of the broad variety of artwork, created by students and faculty of the Firehouse Art Center will be on display. Instructors and students will be stationed on the periphery of the tent demonstrating the process of all mediums taught at The Firehouse Art Center.

The “Kids’ Art Wall” will be created again by the Firehouse Art Center for the young painters. Local artists and instructors will be available to assist children with expressing them selves with paint on the art wall. Free Firehouse Art Center T-Shirts will be passed out to the first 75 kids that participate in the Kids’ Art Wall project. This year we are bringing back Raku for the kids.

Local artists are encouraged to sign up to create a 4 x 4 panel on the adult art wall. In keeping with tradition Midsummer nights’ Fair 2008 will include several food vendors, live music and performing artists.
