INTRODUCTION TO STONE CARVING-ALABASTER

Saturdays, September 12 - October 10 8:00 - 11:00 AM

Students will learn to carve alabaster pieces. Emphasis will be on safety, tools, carving procedures, finishing techniques and abstracting sculptural form. Master Sculptors Brancusi, Moore, Arp and Hepworth will be discussed. Students will need to bring ear/eye protection and a dusk mask. Sign up early to pre-order the alabaster (sold separately). A list of tools needed will be available at the FAC.

SCULPTURE FOR BEGINNERS

Wednesdays, September 16 - November 4 6:00 - 9:00 PM

Fridays, September 18 - November 6 6:00 - 9:00 PM

Students will learn to explore and express themselves through clay. This course will teach students the basics of clay and how to turn a form using gesture and symmetry.

FUSED GLASS SLUMPING - PLATES & BOWLS

Thursdays, September 17 - November 5 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Students will learn the properties of glass and how to slump glass over a mold to create a wonderful work of art. All tools provided- material fees cover only the first project.
